Acknowledgments: A first version of this bibliography (about 740 books, articles, and dissertations) was compiled in 1992 by Henry C. Simmons and Vivienne Pierce: Pastoral Responses to Older Adults and Their Families: An annotated bibliography, Westport, CT: Greenwood Press.
The bibliography that you have now accessed continues the work of the first bibliography, and uses basically the same categories for organization. It contains more than 2000 items.
Since the original work, other compilers have worked on this project, in particular Jane Wilson and Thom Bower, with the assistance of Rebekah Abel and Dwight Christenbury. Principal annotators are identified by their initials: Henry Simmons (HS), Vivienne Pierce (VP), Jane Wilson (JW), Thom Bower (TB). Other annotators are noted in the text.
